... עד הכבוש הגרמני לא היו בסוקולקה לא מפלגות, לא
מועדונים ולא תיאטרון. לפעמים הופיעה להקה מחוץ
לעיר, לפעמים התאספו ילדי בית־הספר בבית פרטי
או בבית־הספר, והציגו "מכירת יוסף", "חנה ושבעת
בניה". עם כניסת הגרמנים בעירנו נוסדו "ליטערארישע
געזעלשאפט", "המרכז" "צעירי־ציון", "קדימה" וגם
הסקציה הדראמאטית. השחקנים היו חובבים מבני העיר.
