(1905) לספר "קרן יהושע" (פיעטרקוב תרס״ו) להרב
ר׳ יהושע בן נחמן עפשטיין, המכיל דרושים ומאמרים
בהלכה ואגדה, שזכה גם להסכמות הרבנים המפורסמים
ר׳ יוסף דובער סולובייציק אב״ד בריסק דליטא, ר׳ אליהו
חיים מייזל אב״ד לודז ועוד. ומחבר הספר ר׳ יהושע
עפשטיין אב״ד קוריצ׳ין (מחוז סוקולקה) היה בעצמו
יליד סוקולקה "אביו המופלג ר׳ נחמן היה בנו של הרבני
הנגיד המופלא סוחר נכבד ר׳ שמשון בר שלמה סידראג*
סקי זצ״ל מסאקלקא סוחר נכבד עסק במסחרו באמונה
ועבד את ה׳ עבודת תמה" (בהקדמתו לספרו). ר׳ יהושע
עפשטיין התייחס מצד אמו למשפחת הגאון ר׳ אריה
לייב עפשטיין אב״ד קעניגסבערג בעל "ספר הפרדס".
ור׳ שמואל בר מאיר הלוי אב״ד קוברין, (סבן של הגאון
ר׳ אריה ישעיה קארעליץ בעל ה״חזון איש") מטער אף
הוא הסכמתו לספר וכותב על שארו וחביבו הרב המאו
הגדול החו״ב "יראת ה׳ אוצרו נודע ומפורסם בתורתו
ויראתו הטהורה" הרב ר׳ יהושע עפשטיין כותב על ר׳
משה יהודה: "הרב הגאון הגדול המפורסם בתורה והור
