ר׳ שמשון קצנלנביגן, יהודי נמוך קומה אבל גדול רוח,
וגדול בתורה, הוא יסד ישיבה לתלמוד שהורה בה.
בתרפ״ח כאשר עליתי לארצנו לפתיחת האוניברסיטה
נכנסתי אליו לקבל ברכת פרידה. הוא היה איש חולני
וחלש בגופו, התרומם ממשכבו והתחיל לבכות: "מה
רב ערכך שזכית לעלות לארצנו, ולהיות נוכח במעמד
מאורע נשגב זה, שאין אנו תופשים את גדול ערכו.
אנא אל תשכח להביא לי מתנה: "קצת עפר ארצנו
