בנו של ר׳ יצחק, מנכבדי העיירה לונה (במחוז גרודנד,)
ודודו של הגאון ר׳ יחזקאל אבראמסקי (ראב״ד לונדון
וכעת בירושלים). מלבד השכלתו התורנית ולמודו בישיבות
איישישוק, ז׳אלודוק וראדין, רכש לעצמו גם ידיעות
כלליות ואת השפד, הרוסית וגם הצטיין כדרשן נאד,
וכיידען בספרות המחקר הדתי. בשנת תרנ״ב וד,ו א
בן כ״ב, נשא לאשה את בתו של הרב ר׳ צ״ה דירקטור.
התגורר בכולל "קובנא" ונסמך להוראד, על־ידי הגאונים
ר׳ יצחק אלחנן ספקטור ור׳ שלמד, ר,כר,ן מו״צ ראשון
בווילנד,. כשבע שנים ישב בסוקולקה, עד שקבל בשנת
תרנ״ט (1899) את הרבנות בעיר לאפי (פלך לומזה)
ואחריד, בסערד,י י (פלך סובאלק). הוסמך גם לתפקיד רב
רשמי מטעם הממשלה והופיע במשלחת לפני שר־הפלך
סובאלק. הצטיין גם בסגנון משופר בעברית (אחיו חיד,
הסופר העברי הידוע עזרא גולדין, מלודז, עורך הקובץ
הספרותי "הזמן" שבו פרסם ח.נ. ביאליק את שירו
"בני עניים" שד,וסב שמו ל״ד,מתמיד"). ר׳ ישראל גולדין
פרסם לעתים מאמרים תורניים בעתונות העברית, שזכו
לתשומת לב מרובד,. היד, חובב־ציון נאמן, בד,שפעתConnected nodes
