בשנת 1935 עבר לכהן כמו״ץ בגרודנה. בכל מקום היה
פעיל כציוני וכיהן כמורשה לקרן-קימת. ופעם אחת
קבל התראה מ״אגודת הרבנים", שאם לא יפסיק את פעו-
לתו כציוני יוציאוהו מן האגודה, והוא ענה להם, שגאולת
