יליד ביאליסטוק, כיהן רב בסוקולקה ומשם עבר
לז׳יטומיר. בספרו "ענף עץ אבות" על ארבעה חלקי
ש״ע (זיטומיר, תר״ס), בדברו על יחוסו, הוא מספר
שבשנות נעוריו היה רב בסוקולקה "בעת שפולין בקוש-
רים". מרד הפולנים האחרון ברוסיה היה בשנת 1862.
