רב באודעלסק הסמוכה לסוקולקה, נמצא הספד על הרב
ר׳ יוסף, המדגיש שהוא היה "גדול בתורה וחכם במילי
דעלמא והנהיג את העיר ברוח בינתו והיה ממשכן את
ספריו שהיו חביבים עליו כחייו ליתן נדבה לאורח ...״
