שהיה אז בן 4. והנה נפוצה בתוך האימה הידיעה, ש״העולם הגדול"
מתעתד לגאול מיליון ילדים יהודיים מידי הנאצים, כדי להעבירם
לארץ ישראל, או לקלטם במחנות־ילדים בהשגחת הצלב־האדום.
אני מספר לילדי שיש לו סיכויים לעלות לארץ ישראל. שואל
אותי הילד: ״אבא, האם בארץ ישראל אין גרמנים? האם מתגוררים
