בשנות נעורי היו נפוצים בקלויז נגוניו של ר׳ יעקב פראגר
הנודע, המנגן הראשי בחצרות אלכסנדר. מלבד זה היו חובבי־נגן
בין החסידים שהיו נוסעים לרבי לחגים, וכל פעם היו מביאים
ניגונים חדשים. בשנים מאוחרות יותר הכו בקלויז שורש ניגוני
מודז׳יץ, וביחוד לאחר שחצר אלכסנדר באה בברית החיתון עם
חצר הרבי ממודז׳יץ. בעשר השנים האחרונות נתגלו באלכסנדר
כוכב חדש בנגינה, אברך לודז׳אי בשם גציל, שהיה בעל כשרון
רב בחכמת הניגון. חיבר נגונים, וניגוני־לכת שלו ידועים היו בכל
מקום. בעצמו לא היה בעל־תפילה, אלא שניצח על המקהל ה
בימים־הנוראים, וניצוחו יחד עם מקהלתו משכו חסידים רבים
לרבי, כי שירת המקהל ה בניצוחו הסבה עונג רב למאזינים. מובן,
שבמשך הזמן תפסו ניגוניו של גציל מקום בראש בקלויז אלכסנדר
