ובדרך — אוירוני הגרמנים מנמיכים טוס, קוצרים באנשים

לקאלץ, מקום הימצאם של הורי אז, אולם העיירה יאנדז׳איוב,
שדרכה היה עלי לעבור בדרך לקאלץ כבר היתה כבושה בידי
הגרמנים שהגיעו אליה מן העורף. חזרתי, איפוא, דרך וודז׳סלב
וקשונז׳ וילקי ובדרך לא דרך הגעתי לעיירה פינצ׳וב, וכאן היתה,
פגישתי הראשונה, פנים אל פנים, עם הצבא הנאצי. ביום ה׳ בבוקר
נשמעו יריות חזקות. ירדנו למרתף. אימה, בהלה, יריות, צעקה,
