... ארגון החלוץ בעירנו נוסדה בעת מלחמת העולם הראשונה, 1916, והיתה מהראשונות בפולין. יעודה היה, להכשיר בעבודות חקלאיות את הנוער המתעתד לעלות לארץ. לשם כך נמסרה ל״החלוץ" חלקת אדמה גדולה על־ידי יעקב גוטמן ז״ל, שעובדה בידי החברים, וביחוד בידי החברות, שטיפחו בחריצות את גן־הירק, ותנובתו רבת־המינים נמכרה לאוכלוסיה היהודית בעיר. היו בחווה גם עצי־פרי ואף בריכה לגידול דגים. במשתלות מיוחדות עשויות ארגזים בעלי זגוגיות (חממות) הוכנו שתילים. לשם השתלמות בחקלאות שלחה האגודה את חבריה להכשרה החלוצית הנודעת גרוכוב ליד וארשה. והיו בחווה חיי־תרבות. נערכו בה הרצאות בנושאים ספרותיים ומקצועיים. מבין מייסדי החלוץ בעירנו יש להזכיר את ישראל שטרוכוליץ, יעקב ומירל רוטנברג, לאה שפירא, דוד מייטליס, יעקב לסקר, סנדר לובליגג. יעקב סנדזר, ישראל אופנהיים, משה שנברג, משה יואל רפום ו:רט ואחרים.Connected nodes
