בית הצדיקים יוסטמן בפילץ הגדיל עשה ברוב חסידיו. ומה
רב היה כוחו של המנגן הנודע ר׳ מנדיל פרוהמן, בעל־התפילה
בחצר הרבי מפילץ שמשך אליו חסידים רבים ממרחקים שבאו
ליהנות מנגינתו, ובימים הנוראים היה דמיונו ככהן־גדול בכהונתו
לפני־ולפנים. ועל ידו עזרו בניו, בהם ר׳ לייביל פרוהמן, שנשא
אשה מבנדין ומאז היה בה אזרח קבוע ומנגן רב־יכולת בקלויז
פילץ. בפיו שגורים היו ניגונים נפלאים ונעימים שבאו אליו
מאביו, שהיה בהם קסם רב, וכל אחד השתדל ללמדם ולהביאם
דורון לביתו ולעיירתו. גדול היה כוח משיכתם של הניגונים
