בתקופה מאוחרת יותר׳ קרוב למלחמת העולם הראשונה,
התכונן מלך אדלר לעזוב את פולין בחשאי. הוא התקשר עש
מבריח גבולות מקצועי והלה גזל את כספו ומםרו לידי שומרי
הגבול, שאסרוהו וכלאוהו בבית הכלא בקטוביץ. בעת שבתו
בבית הסוהר הרהר וחפש תחבולות כיצד להמלט מהמקום. הוא
נזכר במכתבו של מכס נורדוי. באמצעות זקיף בית הםוהר התקשר
עם ױ״ר ההסתדרות הצױנית בקטוביץ והלה בא לבקרו בכלא.
כשהראה לו את מכתבו של נורדוי החליט מיד ױ״ר ההסתדרות
הצױנית בקטוביץ לעשות את כל המאמצים כדי לשחררו ולאחר
מאמצים רבים שוחרר מלך אדלר ויצא לאמריקה• ...Connected nodes
