העיר (ר׳ מרדכי זונשײן) הספיק עוד בראשית 1942 לבקר עם
אבױ אצל הרב החמלניקאי בעיר ולהתגנב אלױ דרך םיממאות
(בי סכנה נשקפה ליהודי שעבר ברחובות המלאים נוצרים
ושוטרים), לראותו בהדרת פניו האומרת כבוד שהפיקו צער
וכאב, ואף החליפו ביגיהם מלות פרידה. והרב אמנם צעד
ראשון בראש היהודים המגורשים של העיר לכבשן טרבלינקה.
יהא זכרו קדוש ומבורך בתוך שאר קדושי עם ישראל שקדשו
את חײהם בעד קדושת השם, עמם וארצם.
