על משה מיכל האמור, שהרבה מבני העיר ידעוהו יפד״
ספרו בעיר דברים ״משונים״. הוא היה תלמיד־חכם, מסתפק
במועט, ועני גדול, וכמעט שלא התענין בפרנסה. העיקר היה
אצלו חםידות ולמוד תורה. העיר חמלניק היתד״ ככל העירות
בפולין באותו זמן, בתקופת מעבר. הנוער החל להתארגן
במפלגות שונות ,ור׳ משה מיכל נהל אתם ״מלחמה״. פעם
אחת עלה בידי הנוער לארגן מסיבה חגיגית בלוית נגינה.
נערים ונערות בילו יפה׳ ואף לא החסירו את הריקוד. הם שכרו
למטרה זו את ה״אולם״ אצל משה גורליצקי שבאמצע השוק.
אין לדעת כיצד הגיעה הידיעה על כך לאזני משה מיכל, אך
הוא אחז מיד באמצעים, פנה לרב, ארגן עוד כמה חםידים
ופניהם ל״אולם״. אך בינתײם יצאה השבת וכולם נתפזרו
לכל רוח. משה מיכל המשיך במלחמתו נגד הנועד עד
