בשנת 1918, משנפתחו הגבולות, עברנו לדויד-הורודוק, עיר מולדתו של הדוד. 7 שנים
לאחר מכן עליתי אנכי ארצה, ואילו אברשה אחי נסע לוילנא להמשיך את לימודיו בסמינר. ידוע
ידע אברשה כי אין יד הדוד משגת לשאת בכל הוצאותיו, ולפיכך עשה כמיטב יכלתו להתפרנס
משעורים: אך עיקר העזרה מאת הדוד ניתנה לו, משסיים אברשה את חוק לימודיו נכנס להוראה
בבית-הספר ,תרבות"? בדויד-הורודוק, וכעבור זמן קצר נתמנה כמנהלו. את מיטב אונו ומרצו
השקיע בבית-הספר, והיה אהוב על המורים והתלמידים כאחד. עשה נפשות לציונות בין התלמידים,
ואירגן את הנוער לתפקידו העיקרי : דיבור עברי בכל אשר פנה. אף ההורים נאלצו לדבר עברית
