לימים יצא לפטרוגרד, לועידה הציונית הגדולה, היא הועידה הראשונה והאחרונה לועידות
ציוניות ברוסיה. לא היה בכוחנו לשלוח ציר לועידה חשובה זאת וגם לא עלה הדבר על דעתנו.
ועידה של כל ציוני רוסיה ,ומי אנחנו"עיירה קטנה, אולם אשר זגר מגלה לנו כי נוסע הוא
לפטרוגרד בעניני מסחר (אולי היתה זו אמתלה בלבד) והוא רוצה להשתתף בועידה -- אך לו דרוש
מנדט של ציר. שמחנו מאוד והמזכיר הכין לו כתב-אישור רשמי כתוב בשפת מליצה וחתום
