הוא היה מראשוני הנאורים שפרסם את חיבוריו
בפולנית, והשתתף בעתונות הפולנית. ספרו: "היסטארי -
א נאר 1 ד ו סינאיסקיעגו ־ ו ו פאלסצע" עשה רושם
בזמנו. פרסם גם מאמרים משטח המשק החקלאי
ובעיות־המטבע. מלבד ידיעותיו בספרות הרבנית וחכמת
ישראל הצטיין גם בהשכלתו הכללית והיה אחד
הנואמים המפורסמים בפולנית וגרמנית. היה מידידיו
הקרובים ביותר של אברהם קרוכמאל, ותמך בסופרי־
עברית. בעצמו פרסם מאמרים ב,.כרם המד", "אוצר
נחמד", ב״החלוץ" של יה״ש, ובקובץ ,,שדה צופים"
שהיה מוקדש לחכמת ישראל ויצא לאור בלבוב
בעריכתו של מיכאל וולף (1860). גם עמד בחליפת
מכתבים עם שד״ל. בסיים הגליצאי מלא תפקיד חשוב
