ההשכלה. במספר סקירות גילה חומר חדש לתולדות
עלילת־הדם בפולין. בשורה של מחקרים הסיר את
הלוט מעל העולם המסתורי של הגיטו היהודי בפולין.
בלב ן לא היה רק מאסף חומר ומעבדו, אלא שעסק
במדד. רבה בבעיות חקר־היסטורי. לדוגמה: מחקרו על
המסקנות הרעיוניות, שהסיק לפי המקורות והעובדות׳
בנוגע לבעיה ההיסטורית "מתי ומהיכן באו יהודים
לפולין״ (פולנית, וארשה (1931). הרצאתו על תהליך
האלמנטים התרבותיים מנהר ריין עד הויסלא־דניפר"׳
שהרצה בכינוס הבינלאומי של מדעי ההיסטוריה
בוארשה בשנת 1933. ענין וחשיבות מרובה יש גם
בהרצאות שנשא בכינוס החמישי של ההיסטוריונים
הפולניים בוארשה, בשנת 1930׳ על "התפקידים והצרכים
של ההיסטוריוגרפיה היהודית בפולין", בה הדגיש
במיוחד את האופי הלאומי של יהודי פולין המצריך
היסטוריוגרפיה לגופה ואין להכלילה במסגרת ההיסטו־
ריוגרפיה הפולנית, כי רעיון העדיפות הלאומית הוא
