חיי הקהילה התרכזו, כנהוג, בבית־הכנסת (פאר־
שטעטישע שוהל) ושם התכנסו ועד־הקהילה ובית־הדין.
בפרבר רכשו היהודים מגרשים ובתים בלי קשיים
מיוחדים, כי לפי הפריבילגיה המלכותית שאושרה
להם גם ע״י המלך זיגמונט אוגוסט ב־1 באוקטובר
1568, ניתנה להם הזכות לקנות ולמכור בתים. הפרי־
בילגיה קוימה בקפדנות ע״י הסטרוסטום ואחד מהם,
בוניפאצי מנישך, הצהיר בתקנה מיוחדת מיום 18
ביולי 1618 שיהודי הפרבר הם בעלי־בתים ורשאים
לרכוש מידי נוצרים בפרבר־קרקוב מגרשים ובתים
וכן רשאים הנוצרים למכור נכסים ליהודים. תקנה
זו חייבה את היהודים רק לשלם לארמון את
