עלה חמלניצקי בראש חיל ומחבל זפוריז׳יה מערבה,
ובימי 6 — 15 במאי חיכה את צבאות פולין, שהיו
נתונים לפיקודם של פוטוצקי וקאלינובסקי. נצחון
מזהיר זה, היה האות להתפרצות המרד הכללי של
