על גביית המסים והתשלומים היו אחראים פרנסי
הקהלה. בשנת 1499 אסרו הפרנסים ע״י הסטרוסטה
בגלל פיגור סך 24 פלורין בעד מס הבתים ונכסי־
דלא־ניידי (שאס קרולעבסקי) מאת היהודי יעקובובה
והם שוחררו רק אחרי שיצחק בן מרדכי (מארקוביץ)
שתדלן היהודים נתן כמשכון את חפצי־בית־הכבסת 9).
החל מסוף המאה הט״ו נתמנו גובי־מסים מיוחדים.
כאחד מראשוני הגבוהים בפולין הגדולה היה פישל
מקרקא, משנת 1498. יש להניח שגם הפרנסים (דק־
טורעם יודעאורום) בלבוב היו עוזרים במילוי התפקיד.
בתעודה אחת משנת 1496 נזכרה אשת הפרנס יוסף
ובתעודה מ־19 ביולי 1497 מופיע כבר שמו 1י)

בין הממשלה והיהודים בעניני המסים היו, למעשה,
לא הקהילות אלא הפרנסים, אליהם העביר המלך את
