בשנת תר״ח (1848) בערך, מסרה מרת חיה־טובה את דפוסה לידי בנה, ר׳ אברהם יוסף מדפיס, והוא שכלל והגדיל את המפעל לפי רוח הזמן בטוב טעם ודעת, ונטל עליו להעשיר את הספרות התורנית בספרים מועילים. בשנת תרי״ט התעתד להוציא מחדש את התלמוד בבלי, ואחרי עשותו את ההכנות הנחוצות לקח הסכמה מן הרב הנודע, ר׳ יוסף שאול נתנזון, כדי למנוע הסגת־גבול, שלא יבואו אחרים ויתחרו עמו, כמו המדפיס ר׳ אברהם יצחק מנקים. הרב ישעיה שור, האבד״ק מיאסי, אומר בהסכמתו: "מצוה גדולה לסייע להנגיד ר׳ אברהם יוסף מדפיס נ״י לקבל ממנו הש״ס וכל מי שיקנה הש״ס גדול ממדפיסים אחרים זולתו, שלא כדין של תורה עשה". בהדפסת התלמוד הוחל בשנת תר״ך והמלאכה נגמרה בשנת תרכ״ח במלוא הדרה. אחרי־כן הוציא גם ארבעת חלקי שולחן־ערוך עם כל המפרשים, חמשה חומשי תורה עם פירושים שונים, ועוד כהנה. ...Connected nodes
