בין רבני העיר המפורסמים יש להזכיר את ר׳ שלמה
דרימר, מחבר "בית שלמה", אחד הפוסקים הנודעים בראשית
המאה ה־9ו, את בנו ר׳ אברהם דרימר, מחבר "באר ה ש ל מרים "
ואת נכדו ר׳ נטע דרימר, שכתב הגהות לחיבורו של אביו. בנו בכורו
של ר׳ נטע, ר׳ שלמה דרימר למד משפטים באוניברסיטה
בקראקוב הגיע לדרגת סרן ולתפקיד של סגן הרב הראשי בצבא
הפולני. בספטמבר 939ו נשבה בידי הצבא הסובייטי ומת בכלא.
בנו הצעיר של ר׳ נטע, ר׳ יהודה דרימר ירש כסא אביו בסקאלה,
ובעת הכיבוש הנאצי נתמנה כחבר היודנראט. בספטמבר 942ו
