והשמדתה. חברנו הבלתי־נשכח, שלמה בילגוריי, צייר מחונן,
הספיק עוד לפני מותו, לבחון ציורים אלה והביע התפעלות ו
מדמיונם המופלא של הילדים — הציירים התמימים. באותו בית
ספר "כצנלסון" נכללות תולדות השואה במסגרת לימודי "תולדות
עם ישראל בדורות האחרונים בארץ ובגולה". כל תלמידי הכיתות
י״א שומעים מפי 55 שעורים־שיחות וזכרונות על השואה, והמחש ת
זוועותיה מוצאת ביטויה המוחשי בתאור קורות השמדתם של
יהודי סקאלה. התלמידים מכירים את עיירתנו על כל אורותיה
וצלליה, על שמחותיה ויגונותיה, על אישיה ומנהיגיה, על כל שלב
ושלב בתהליך השמדתה. הם כותבים עבודות שנתיות מקיפות על
השואה, והטובות שבהן זוכות בפרסים, ספרים על השואה,
המוענקים להם בטכס סיום שנת הלימודים מקרן "לחמן־וייס"
