קפא״י. באקדמיה הופיע גם הציר לסיים מס. פ. ס. סטאנצ׳יק,
יושב־ראש אגודת פועלי המכרות. נאומו הכּן, שהיה מלא מחמאות
לפועלי ארץ־ישראל — נתקבל בתשואות רמות בלתי־פוסקות. לכבוד
האורח בן־צבי נערכה מסיבה, ובמקום תרמו הנוכחים 700 דולר
(מתוך הסכום הזה היתה השתתפות חברינו בסך 250 דולר). הה,
בן־צבי ביקר במכרה פחם, 500 מטר מתחת לפני האדמה, בו עובדים
ארבעת אלפים כורים. מפלגתנו ניצלה את שהותו בעיר וקיימה
עמו כמה אסיפות וישיבות. הוא ביקר גם ב״פרייהייט" וב״רויטער
