... אין אנו יודעים כיצד נפלו בזמן הגירוש האחרון אלפיים
ושמונה מאות הקרבנות, שרבים מהם התנגדו בכוח עם נשק ביד
לגירושים. לדאבוננו הרב לא נותרו עדים חיים מהמגינים. במקרה
נודע לנו, שכאשר ניגשו הגרמנים ביום השני לגירוש לבית אחד
בגיטו שרודולה, הסתערו עליהם 30 יהודים מזוינים במקלות,
סכינים ואבנים. בקרב בין הקבוצה היהודית והאויב, שעלה עליה
