ובארץ־ישראל הצטרף להסתדרות העובדים והיה תחילה פועל
,.שחור". ראינוהו עומד על הפיגומים ומטייח בתים בתל-אביב,
בנגריה עם המשור ביד. העיר הסואנת והרועשת נמאסה עליו, והוא
פונה לקיבוץ, אולם גם כאן לא החזיק מעמד ועזבו. תוהה על
עתידו בארץ, ומחליט להתיישב באחד הכפרים. הולך לכפר־יונה,
ומצטרף לארגון של מושב עובדים — ארגון "בורוכוב". בכפר ־
