עם פטירתו של הרשלטאטל ב־1938, הופיעה ב״זאגלעמביער לעבך רשימה מפורטת והערכה על אישיותו, בה צויין: "נסתלקה דמות מרכזית, מעמודי התווך של מפלגת פועלי ציון שמאל בבנדין. תמיד עמד בשורות הקדמיות של הלוחמים לחרות. עוד בשנת 1905 נלחם, נאסר ונתענה בבתי־סוהר ובגירושים. כחייל נאמן במלחמה כן עמד כל שנות חייו בחזית למען שחרור מעמד הפועלים ממשעבדיו. בעירית בנדין הראשונה, 1916, נתפרסם כנציג פועלי ציון בהופעותיו המוצלחות לטובת עניני הפועלים והעיר היהודית כולה. הננו פוגשים אותו תמיד ב״ארבעטערהיים", ב״הזמיר" ב״געזעלשאפט פאר אווענט קורסן" ובלהקת "מוזע", שהוא היה הבמאי הקבוע שלה. לא נרתע אף ליום משליחותו הציבורית שעשה באמונה ובמסירות. תנועת הפועלים היהודית איבדה במותו דמות אידיאלית, לוחם אמיץ, חלוץ הבמה היהודית וחובב נלהב של יידיש ותרבותה". ...Connected nodes
