אין א צײט שפעטער בין איך מיט נאך צען מאן ארויס־
געשיקט געװארן אין אן אפיצירן־שולע אין כעלם. געלערנט
בײטאג און בײנאכט און געענדיקט די שולע אין משך פון
פינף חדשים׳ דאם האט געברויכט דויערן אין גארמאלע
באדינגונגען צװײ יאר. איך האב די שולע געענדיקט נאך
שװערע עקזאמענם׳ װאם איך האב זיך ביי אלע איםגעצײכנט.
בײ דער ענדע האב איך באקומען די נאמינאציע אלם פאד־
פארוטשניק. איך בין צוריק אװעקגעשיקט געװארן אויפן
פראנט׳ װאס איז שוין געװעזן בײם טייך ״אדער״. פארנדיק
צום פולק בין איך אראפ אויף דער באן־סטאציע בידגאשטש.
איך האב דארט באגעגנט דרײ ײדישע מײדלעך׳ אײנע פון
זײ איז מיר באלד אנטקעגנגעגאנגען און מיך געפרעגט
״עמךי״ איך האב נישט געװוםט׳ אז דאס איז א ײדיש
דערקענונגס־װארט פון נאכן קריג. איך האב מיט איר
אגגעהויבן רעדן ײדיש און זי האט מיר דערצײלט װעגן
טראגישן גורל פון פוילישן ײדנטום. איך האב איר איבער־
געגעבן די אדרעםן פון מײן ברודער און שװעםטער אין
ארץ־ישראל און איר געבעטן זײ שרײבן׳ אז איך בין געגאנגען
