בנעורױ הצטרף ישעיהו ביחד עם שלמה׳לה רײך ל־
״השומר״ והפכו חיש לאהובי הנוער ולמדריכיה. צדוק וישעיהו
המשיכו במחתרת פעולותיהם׳ נגד רצון אביהם נהפכו לברי־
סמכא בעניני תרבות והדרכה צױנית. לא החליפו את קפוטותיהם
המםורתױת שלא לצער את האבא. ישעיהו היה גם מבקר עם
אבױ ב״שטיבל״ של חסידי גור. וקרה מקרה׳ שפעם הופיע
בשבת וכיפת הקטיפה שמתחת לכובע איננה בולטת די צרכה׳
