בײם מלחמה־אויםברוך איז ער אנטלאפן פון תפיםה און אװעק אין די פארנומענע געביטן פון די סאװיעטן• גאך לאנגע װאנדערונגען איז ער אנגעקומען קײז קרים און שפעטער געארבעט אלס מאשיניםט אין א לעדער־פאבריק אין סימפע• ראפאל. װען די שטאט איז אין 1941 פארנומען געװארן דורך די דײטשן, איז יענדרעק פון אײגענעם װילן ארײן אין ײדישן געטא און דארט געלעבט מיט די ײדן. ער האט זיך דערנאך אויך צוגעשטעלט צוזאמען מיט אלע יידן צום גירוש. װען פרײנט האבן אים אויפמערקזאם געמאכט צי ער גיט זיך אפ א חשבון, אז ער גײט צום טויט, האט ער געענטפערט : ״דער גורל פון ײדן איז מײן גורל •״ װען די ם.ס.־לײט האבן זיך דערװוםט, אז יענדרעק איז נישט קײן ײד, האבן זײ איס ארויםגענומען פון דער רײ צום לעצטן װעג און קאנטראלירט. זײ האבן זיך איבערצײגט, אז ער איז נישט געמל׳עט, האבן זײ אים געװאלט באפרײען• ער האט אבער געהאלטן אין אײן טענהן־ ״כ׳בין א ײדי״ די ס.ס.־לײט זענען אים דערבײ באפאלן, צעשלאגן ביז בלוט און אויסגעהאקט די צײן. ...
