ואכן, ב"19/9, בשעה 6 לפנות בוקר נכנס הצבא האדם העירה. הישוב היהודי נשם לרווחה. החוליה
שלי, בת חמשת הכבאים, ששמרה על גשר אולשן, פגשה ראשונה את הצבא האדם עם כניסתו.
הללו חשבונו למשטרה פולנית, וכיונו את נשקם לעברנו, עד שעלה בידינו להוכיח מי אנו. הם
לא עזבונו ויחד התקדמנו לעברה השני של העיר אל גשר ההורין. ליד ביתו של משה בורוכין
ירו 3 חיילים פולנים לעברנו כי לא רצו למסור את העיר ללא מאבק. שני לייטננטים מן הצבא
