Tatar devastation of the region
In 1240, Tatars devastated the region east of the Horyn and Pripyat rivers; inhabitants fled across the rivers. Mikhail of Chernihiv is mentioned afterward as concentrating forces in Pinsk, not as a participant in the devastation.
