החלטנו לנסות לישראל רוזנצויג שיעזור לנו ביסוד השומר הצעיר ולעמוד בראש
הפעילות. ישראל רוזנצויג בא ללוקוב מורשה, הוא היה מורה בבית ספר ממשלתי
בלוקוב, ראינו לפנינו אדם עם השכלה ואינטליגנציה שלוקוב לא יכלה אפילו לחלום
על איש מסוגו. אנו גם הרגשנו שהמורה רוזנצויג יש לו לב יהודי חם והוא יהיה מוכן
לעשות משהו למען נוער יהודי בלוקוב. אלא שצריך היה לפנות אליו ואנחנו, מייסדי
השומר הצעיר, לא היתה לנו גם ברירה אחרת, כי בלי מנהיג לא יכולנו אפילו לחשוב
