אחרי חלוקת פולין בפעם השלישית (1795) קבלה אוסטריה אחת מ־3 הממלכות
(האחרות רוסיה ופרוסיה.) חלק רציני מפולין וכן את הפרובינציות לובלין ושדליץ. חלק
זה נקרא ״גליציה המערבית״. לוקוב ושכנותיה, כמו מזריטש, ביאלה ואחרות הפכו לחלק
מן הכתר האוסטרי. והיהודים הפכו להיות כפופים לתקנות האוסטריות בענין היהודים.
מצב זה ארך עד 1809. עם נצחון נפוליון על אויביו הוא צירף את אדמת ״גליציה
המערבית״ שכבש לנסיכות הוורשאית שנשלטה ע״י המלך הזקםי (1807). ב־1815, לפי
הסכם השלום הוינאי, הופכת הנסיכות הוורשאית לפולין הקונגרסאית וזו נמסרת לרוסיה. ...Connected nodes
