... העיריה רצתה לנצל את ההזדמנות ולאסור על
היהודים להקים מחדש את בתיהם ברובע זה, וביחוד
את בית־הכנסת. אולם היהודים לא שקטו ובהשתדלותם
נחתם ב־30 באפריל 1624 הסכם. שלפיו הורשה
ליהודים לבנות רחוב חדש מפלטב במזרחה בכיוון
למנזר הבנדיקטיניות, להקים את הריסות בית־הכנסת,
אולם במקום חדש בשיפולי הארמון הפוזנאי, להשאיר
את המגרשים ע״י חומות העיר ובמקומם לרכוש להם
כרצונם מגרשים חדשים לבניית בתים חדשים. ב־10
