... החלטת כינוס־הקהלוֹת בענין בית־מדרש לרבנים
הזעיקה את מחנה־האדוקים. ב־17 ביולי (י״ז בתמוז)
1878 התאסף בלבוב, בראשות הרב ר׳ צבי־הירש
אורנשטיין, כינוס־רבנים, שהחליט לעכב בכל האמצעים
את הגשמת בית־המדרש לרבנים. בדעת כינוס־הרבנים
היה גם לדרוש שיהודים לא יפנו אל עורכי־דין ורופאים
יהודים כדי שלא "יפלו לידי מתקני הדת". הרב ר׳
שמעון שרייבר מקרקא נבחר לבא־כוח הכינוס, ובעזרת
יצחק דייטש מוינה ק־יוו להצלי בהשתדליתם בחוגי־
הממשלה בוינה. הרב ד׳ שמעון שרייבר, הרב רצ״ה
אורנשטיין והרבי מבלזה הוציאו כרוז אל כל הקהלות,
בו קבעו שהחלטת כינוס־הקהלוֹת מזיקה ומסוכנת
יותר מכל הרדיפות וגזירות־השמד בספרד. ...Connected nodes
