מרשאלקוביץ. בסוף המאה הי״ח עברו לטרניפול,
התעסקו בחכירת אחוזות. כיתר משפחות חוכרים יהודיים
שחששו מפני מהומות־אכרים עזבו את פודוליה ועברו
ללבוב. בני משפחת פרנס השתלמו באוניברסיטה
והתעסקו בפרקליטות. ד״ר אמיל פרנס, וד״ר יוסף
פרנס מראשי המתבוללים מלאו תפקיד חשוב בחיי
הקהלה. במרוצת הזמן התקרבו קרבה חיובית לעניני
בנין א״י והצטרפו גם ל״סוכנות היהודית המורחבת"
