הסוחרים הבינוניים וביחוד הארמנים שהשתלטו על
המסחר המזרחי התיהסו באיבה אל הסוחרים היהודים ,
שלפי הפשרה היו רשאים לסחור בסחורות מזרחיות .
עוד בשנת 1597 , כשנתיים אחרי חתימת הפשרה הגישו
כל אגודות בעלי־המלאכה מחאה נגד העיריה , שהעיזה
על דעת עצמה לחתום חוזה עם יהודים ובו מסרה
לרעת העירונים לידיהם כל מסחר לא רק בלבוב
אלא בכל רייסין 4 ) . בעין אחרת ראו את הפשרה
האצילים , הם היו זקוקים לסרסור היהודי ולכן לא
שמו לב למונופולין , שדרשו העירונים . נוסף לזה היה
נוח לבעל־אחוזה להשתמש בסוחר היהודי , שהיה
