ב״קרן תלמוד״תורה״ לבנין בית־יתומים בשביל 120
יתומים חניכי המוסד. לפי התכנית ילמדו בבית־
היתומים למודי״חול ויעמדו כל שנה לבחינות בבית־
ספר כללי. הבקשה כללה גם תכנית לקבוע בגימנסיה
משרת מורה דת־יהודית, שיוכל למלא גם תפקיד של
מטיף. הבקשה נתמכה גם ע״י העיריה. הגוברניון
הזכיר בתשובתו לקהלה שהעניין כבר נדון בשנת
1835, ולפי חוות־דעתם של יוסף פרל והרץ הומברג,
נתנה לשכת־החצר בוינה ב־2 לספטמבר 1837 הוראה,
לקהלת לבוב לפתוח בית־ספר עממי לפי דוגמת
טרנופול, ולהשתמש בתקציב לתשלום משכורת המורה.
