בין יתר החפצים הטמנתי באמתחתי את דגל גורדוניד. בתוך
צפית של כרית. בבואנו ל״אינטרנירונג־לאגר" נתקל איש הגיסטאפו
בעת בדיקת החפצים בדגל, אך לא ידע מהו. לרגע ניצבתי נבוך
ותוהה, לבי פועם פן אתפס בקלקלתי, אך לא איבדתי עשתונותי,
העמדתי פני תמים ועניתי בשלווה, שזהו... "געבעטס־טוך", כלומר
— טלית לפולחן התפילה. החייל נעץ בי מבט של תמיהה חע״ם
