בשאלה זאת כותב ב״זאגלעמביער צייטוגג" העתונאי לייבל קרנר ז״ל, בשנת 1938: "רעיון הקמת בי״ס עברי־בבנדין מלווה חבלי־לידה ונפתולים רבים. עייפנו לשמוע באספות רבות העוסקות בענין זה דברים מרוממים, שאין תכלית ומעשים ממשיים בצדם. אין ספק בדבר, שביה״ס של "תרבות" הוא צורך חיוני והורים רבים היו שולחים ודאי ברצון את ילדיהם לקבל חנוך עברי־לאומי, כי רק בית־ספר כזה עתיד לחנך את תלמידיו ברוח לאומית, ובוגריו היו ממשיכים השתלמותם באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים או בטכניון שבחיפה. לפיכך שומה על העסקנים הציוניים בבנדין ועל קנאי השפה העברית, לגשת במרץ ובעוז להגשמת הרעיון של הקמת ביה״ם מטיפוס "תרבות", שהוא לנו כלחם חוקנו". ...Connected nodes
