להר כנקודה איסטראטגית, הרם את המבצר העשוי עץ ובמקומו
הקים בשנת 1358 מבצר אדיר, שעמד על משמר גבולות פולין
כתרים נגד בני־שלזיה ה״מתגרמנים" התוקפנים. היה זה מבצר
בן שלוש קומות וחומות בנות ארבעה מטר הרוחב ושנים עשר
מטר הגובה. כאשר סיים קאז׳ימאז׳ הגדול מלאכתו הוא יסד את
העיר, בהעבירו את התושבים מבנדין הקודמת, שנמצאה בשטחי
