... לאוםטרובצה הרחוקה מהעיר כעשרים ק״מ על אף חולשתו
ממחרת תענית ױם־כפור, והנםיעה היתה אז בעגלה פשוטד-
וכן דחפתו השעה הקצרה שנשארה עד הםוכות ללא אתרוג
ברשותו. הוא שמח שנזדמנה לו המצוה למצוא לו אתרוג,
ולמרות הסכנה הגיע לשם בשלום. בשובו דרך טשמילוב
עכבוהו החםידים ללינה, בנמוק שםכנה לנםוע בלילה. והוא לא
נענה להפצרתם. ואכן באותו לילה נהרגו ארבעה יהודים בידי
חיילים בדרך שבין טשמילוב ואוזירוב• בעגלה ישבו חמשה
יהודים, והחמישי מהם ניצול. וסיפר הצדיק, כי לפני שלושים
שנה ביקר פעם אצל סבו הרי״ח באוזירוב, והלה אמר לו
שבמקום םכנה של רוצחים יש להתרחק מעט ממקומו, וםיפר
כי נצטװ לשכב על הארץ, והחיילים ירו בהם, והוא — החמישי
— נזכר בדברי סבו והתרחק קצת ממקומו ולכן לא שלטו בו
הכדורים ונגעו רק בכובעו, וכפשע היה בין החיים והמות,
והראה בכובעו כמה חורים מהכדורים, בלי לפגוע בעצמו
ובבשרו, וניצל בדרך נס. והכל בזכות ההשתוקקות של מצוה
