... הקהילה העתיקה בלוקוב נמצאה מבחינה גיאוגרפית־אסטרטגית בפרשת דרכים רועשת בין פולין לליטא ושלטה על המשור של פודלישה. לכן אולי היתה לוקוב הישוב היהודי העתיק ביותר בפודלישה. לפני שהנוצרים הקימו כנסיה, הקימו היהודים בה בית כנסת משלהם. אם לא נראו בעיר המסעות הסוערים של חבורת חמלניצקי, של השוודים, של צבא נפוליון, של הרוסים והאחרים הרי זה רק בגלל העובדה שהעוברים שדדו, רצחו ושרפו את הכל ביסודיות שלא נשאר זכר לבאים אחר כן. ככל שההיסטוריה של עיר הכתר היתה סוערת, כך סוערים ומלאי חיים היו חיי יהודי לוקוב. הקהילה הקדושה לוקוב היתה בעלת יחוס גדול, היו בה הרבנים החשובים של פודלישה וגם רבה האחרון אם אינני טועה היה נכד הקוצקאי. ...Connected nodes
