... אחרי שד״ר בלומנפלד וחבריו בהנהלת״הקהלה השתדלו להכניס סדר באדמיניסטרציה, ניגשו בשנת 1843 לריאורגניזציה של תלמוד״התורה והונהגו בו גם לימודים כלליים. בתכנית הלימודים נכללו גם תנ״ך עם תרגום גרמני, חשבון, כתיבה, דקדוק עברי והשפה הגרמנית. מספר התלמידים היה 130. לכיסוי ההוצאות הספיקו הכנסות אחד הבתים של הקהלה, 800 פלורין. מנהלת בית־היתומים גם דאגה להמציא אוכל ובגד לנצרכים. ...
