עמוד התורה וההוראה, באור תורתו האיר לדור דירים,
בעודנו בחיים זכה כי נקבעה ההלכה כמותו, הוא בעל
"טורי זהב". נולד בלודמיר פלך ווהלין, חתנו של ר׳
יואל סירקיס בעל הב״ח על הטורים, רב בפוטליטש,
ר״מ בקרקא, בפוזנא, אב״ד ור״מ באוסטרהא, בימי
הרג חמלניצקי נדד למדינת מורביה, בכל מקום בואו
תיקן תקנות מועילות, אחרי ששקטה הארץ חזר
לפולניה ונתקבל לאב״ד ור״מ בלבוב, אחרי הרב ר׳
יוסף בן אליקום געץ, חיבר ס׳ "טורי זהב" לש״ע,
וס׳ "דברי דוד" עה״ת, עלה למרום כ״ו שבט תב״ז,
