עם שחרורה היא נישאה לרוקח פבוני וזיידמן וכאשר התחילו
שרידי השואה, אזרחי פולין לשעבר, לנדוד מערבה, נדדו גם הם והתיישבו
בעיר ביטום שבשלזיה העילית. הזוג נשאר חשוך בנים. העבר הנורא העיק
על חייה של דבורה, לבה השבור לא התאושש עוד ממראות האימים
שמלאו ימיה ולילותיה. במשך שנים התנהלו בינה לביני חילופי מכתבים
בהם ניסיתי לשכנעה שתבוא ארצה ותעזוב את ארץ הדמים והזכרונות
הנוראים. סיבות רבות גרמו לכך שעל אף רצונה העז לא נתממש חלומה
זה, ובהיוודע לה כי שרידי עירנו, החיים בישראל ובארצות הברית, עומדים
להוציא ספר זכרון להנצחת הקדושים, החלה אף היא לרשום זכרונותיה
בקצב גובר והולך, כאילו חשה כי קיצה קרב. ב־8 ביולי 1964 מתה פתאום
מהתקף־לב והובאה למנוחות על אדמת נכר ־ והיא רק בת 42 במותה.
