הנוף הפודוליאני (דרום־מזרח גליציה) הידוע ביופיו, בססגוניותו
ובאדמתו הפוריה. זוהי ארץ גבעות ועמקים, יערות עבותים, ושדות
נרחבים, עשירה במים, בעלת אקלים יבשתי ממוזג. הקיץ גשום
וחם יחסית, בחורף הקור יורדים שלגים למכביר ושכיחות בו גם
סופות של גמלות כפור עז. יפה היא פודוליה זו בשתי עונות השנה
האחרות: באביב ־ הנוח והחמים, המלבלב, הפרחוני והריחני,
